Who is Roger???

Hello everyone! My name is Roger and I'm from Windsor, Connecticut. This year will be my Senior year as a Photography Major studying at the University of Hartford Art School. I commute there...not cool. So I live at home and in between friends, my girlfriend and work it's quite crazy trying to get ready to leave the country for 4 months. I will be leaving for Galway, Ireland at the end of August and not returning home until ummm...maybe January??? There on the West Coast of Ireland I will be studying not at Galway University, student population of around 40,000, but rather at the Burren College of Art, population 40. The BCA is located in a little town called Ballyvaughan with a population of less than 400. Ballyvaughan is located in an area called The Burren and I hear it's one of the most unique landscapes in all the world. It is absolutely covered in limestone! There's hills of it, mountains even. Every spot of land has these large flat sheets of limestone in which some of the worlds rarest flowers grow... Being a landscape photographer this should be quite some trip... Well wish me luck and safe travels... Oh, and everyone is welcome to write to me and check out all of my photo galleries. Enjoy and be sure to keep up with all my travels!

It must be a really intense experience leaving home for the first time to study abroad and Ireland sounds like a great first place to start your travel experience! I can't even imagine the beautiful scenery you'll be able to capture in your photos! I look forward to seeing lots of good pictures and stories.

Hey when I'm done in India I'm heading to the UK for a few days, early December. (I had a layover there anyway on the flight home so I just had them stretch it out some.) Drop me a line if you think you can make it across the water!

Roger, how exciting to see my nephew on NBC last night. I want you to know how proud we are of you. I always knew you were going to do something with your eyes and inspiration. Even as a young child at the age of 4 you loved looking for the prettiest and best rocks you could find around our pool, and then try to sell them back to me!!! Keep up the good work and HAVE FUN. Look forward to more of your pictures. Love Aunt Dianne

Hey Roger,
my name's tara and I live in dublin, ireland at the moment!
just commenting to say good luck in galway... if you come up to dublin (which you should!) be sure to visit a place called "New Grange" it's a tomb in the countryside that is older than the pyramids!

Hi Roger!
Best wishes for a fun and productive trip. If you do make it over to the Dublin side of Ireland, please check out "Powerscourt Gardens". I saw it 20 years ago, and still remember it, and would love to see it again through your eyes. Roses of every color!! The roses may not be in season, but from the website, looks like there are many feasts for the eye (and camera) over there. I, too, love the Irish landscapes out in the countryside - it feels so wild, especially when you contrast it to the more manicured neighbor, England.
Be well! Love, Bianca
