SPECIAL REQUEST: Where should I go?
I need your help.
Here's the deal: The U(c) Pune Civ program is scheduled to run on the block schedule. That means I take three of my classes sequentially rather than simultaneously. Each class lasts three weeks.
Between the first two classes, we have a week long break. We are strongly encouraged to take advantage of the fact.
...as if I needed any encouragement.
Anyway, I have narrowed down the possiblities to two areas of India to explore: Rajasthan and Kerala.
My major requirements are that I want to take a train trip and I want to see a tiger. Both fit the requirements while still managing to be about as a different as you can get.
I'm open to suggestions, but only through THIS WEEKEND. I need to make reservations by this coming Monday if I want train tickets.
So, public, what do you think?

love that tiger plan. Having your own pictures of a tiger or two would be very cool. posting on your typical day very interesting. tea time presumably the historical british influence or was it the other way around?

I'm gonna agree with julia here - there's several pics that are severely pixelated. But the rest are amazing.

p.s.--as a general rule, moths rest with their wings out, so that's probably a sort of moth. also moths are more usually brown, though this one has got some brighter spots on it than most moths i know. of course i know pacific northwest moths, not indian moths, so what am i talking about?
the fog looks gorgeous. i especially like the stream running off into nothing.

Okay, so the deal with the hiking pictures is that for some reason an enlarged version of the thumbnail is being loaded by the site rather than the actual picture. Not sure why this is happening; I'll check with NBC soon and see if re-loading a few of them helps anything.

Seems to me I recall that viewing a tiger from way up on the back of an elephant is very sensible. And Safe. Looking forward to photos.
